External Quality Director, International

The role will be based at GSK House.

In This Role You Will

This is an opportunity to work in the GSC (Global Supply Chain) at a time when New GSK is being formed.

The purpose of this role is to provide Quality leadership to the GSK supply network for our externally supplied pharmaceutical drug products.

The External Quality Director, International is fully accountable for ensuring compliant and efficient supply for all Contract Manufacturing Operations and based in their region. The role actively participates in the development and execution of the region quality strategy for the GSK external and supplier network.

The job holder will lead the quality team in providing quality, strategy and compliance direction. The role also provides quality support for new product introductions and product transfers within the network.

This is a role that sits on the External Quality Leadership team and will be instrumental in shaping the vision of the external network for GSC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management and development of an empowered team with necessary skills to support the current and future business.
  • Development and delivery of a quality strategy for the regional network.
  • Engagement with suppliers and CMOs (Contract Manufacturing Organizations) and setting aligned goals through business review meetings and governance processes.
  • Compliance of assigned operations- both in terms of assured supply to patient and regulatory compliance. (no interruption to supply)
  • Ensuring on time delivery of NPIs and supplier transfers linked to his/her team
  • Set and deliver budget for the team.

  • Significant experience in Technical and Quality Operations, preferably in highly regulated markets.
  • Science Degree with experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality
  • Operations
  • Track record of leadership experience
  • Sound understanding of quality systems and quality control processes
  • Capable of managing across boundaries
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Good understanding of GMP’s
  • Proven ability to manage large teams
  • Excellent verbal and written skills – English
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
  • Post graduate degree (MS or PhD)
  • Distinctive people leadership/management skills, both downward and upward
