Business development
Work closely with the business directors and international business development team to develop a strategic plan for international growth, which is both ambitious and achievable.
· Analysis of global markets to identify new sales opportunities, proactively approaching and successfully launching into these markets, either direct to retail or via distributors
· Good knowledge of each international marketplace, including retail environment, competitor set, pricing etc.
· Visit markets and trade fairs as regularly as required – this role is Teddington, UK based but with regular worldwide travel.
· Organise and attend international trade events as agreed (such as ECRM / Cosmoprof Bologna) to ensure we are maximising the opportunity to showcase hero brands, and drive proactive follow up to ensure each event is a success and good investment.
Regularly evaluate appropriate international retail and distributor targets ensuring we are working with the right partners to maximise business opportunities; propose and action agreed strategy.
Account Management
· Act as the main point of contact with appropriate customers
· Maximize growth opportunities with existing customer and distributor base – putting in place joint business plans and sales targets where relevant and quarterly review promotion, distribution and A&P spent.
· Present new opportunities and manage requirements internally to provide all appropriate information to drive sales.
· Develop pricing proposals and negotiate appropriately maximising sales and profitability.
Ensure each market receives excellent account management
Commercial Management
· Prepare all contracts/exclusivity agreements with retailers and distributors for final approval by finance dept.
· Responsibility for each market P&L, ensuring all pricing negotiations and contributions are commercially viable.
· Agree budgets, monitor and control maximising profitability.
· Manage stock levels ensuring efficient use of working capital and maximising margin .
· Drive cost saving opportunities maximising margin.
· Monitor and capture monthly forecast in SIA.
· Working closely with the Supply Chain team and Finance team monitor on an ongoing basis FX changes on customer pricing. Ensure appropriate prompt actions are taken.
Reporting
· Support the Finance team in the production of appropriate period reporting for international sales.
· Producing financial quarterly reports to monitor international performance and growth.
· Responsibility for providing sound sales forecasts to the brand and operational teams internally to ensure good availability for all export
markets.
Regulatory & Technical requirements
· With the support of the internal technical and regulatory teams ensure adherence to country specific legislation requirements.
· Work closely with the customer base to ensure we are fully aware of specific country requirements.
Internal Liaison
· Collaborate with the brand team to ensure good knowledge of each of the brands within the portfolio, maximising new product opportunities for specific markets as well as marketing collateral required.
· Liaise with the Digital team to provide international customers and distributors with appropriate assets, materials and information to help support brand’s in local markets.
