Our experienced hire roles on the Integrated Mission Solution related programmes are great for people wanting to take that next step up with more responsibility or broadening their experience in a different domain. As a key technical member of one of these programmes you will be in an influential technical leadership roles to look how we move from an operational set of software centric products to a new set while continuing to support both. You’ll also have an important role in mentoring and supporting the next generation of engineers and scientists coming into this area to mature their abilities and pass on your knowledge, looking to you for guidance and support. You’ll be teammates with experts, specialists and other highly capable people from across a diverse set of backgrounds and disciplines, working together to explore how we develop and mature new software systems while migrating and supporting existing ones.

What you will do

  • Take the team in our technical engagements with our partners, customers and internal teams to explore and experiment with new software focussed designs, technologies and approaches
  • Develop up and coming engineers and technicians with their Systems skills and sharing your domain knowledge
  • Contribute to and make key decisions that impacts how we design and deliver future software centric products as well as figure out how we move from one set of major products to another
  • Develop and mature systems designs, systems architectures, design rationale and design evidence to ensure traceability between today and the needs of tomorrow align


What we are looking for

  • You will need to be able to achieve UK SC clearance, for this a minimum of 5 years UK residency is required
  • Science, engineering or maths based educational background to degree level or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering software focussed projects and moving from an existing set of products over to a new set of products while maintaining operational capability.
  • Demonstrable ability to collaborate with others from diverse backgrounds
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor others on technical and soft skills
