Training will be with experienced engineers and will involve time spent on secondment with the production team. This is a very varied role and requires flexibility and the ability to multitask. Working with other team members, key parts of the role will include:
Mechanical design of company products- Liaising with suppliers and customers
- Working with MRP packages for creating BoMs
- Interfacing with manufacturing and sales teams to produce designs to strict deadlines
- Keeping records for traceability purposes
- Providing input to the design and sales teams to facilitate creation of tenders
- Problem solving with the production team
- Creating system schematics
- Quality checking designed components
- Experience with 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks
- Experience with Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- PDM experience desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of working with sheet metal and aluminium / stainless-steel machined components
Salary - £30 to £35k
