Junior BuyerMaidenhead£25-30k per annumDue to a restructure focused towards growth and progression, a prestigious manufacturing company are looking for an Junior Buyer to join their team. With an enviable order book this company are going from strength, so they are seeking an ambitious individual to join the procurement team to add valued support whilst learning about the supply chain function within the business. This role offers a fast track opportunity for progression to develop your career within procurement!As a Junior Buyer Your Duties Will Include
  • To ensure MRP system is maintained to support the Procurement team ie Lead-times, Pricing.
  • To support Procurement team and Procurement Manager by producing and maintaining KPI’s (as defined by Procurement Manager / Senior Buyers / Buyers as appropriate)
  • To manage the procurement of items / commodities (as defined by Procurement Manager / Senior Buyers / Buyers as appropriate) to support the operational business needs.
  • To expedite Purchase Orders via Supplier acknowledgements, on time delivery and escalate any concerns that would affect this.
  • Identify and highlight any areas for cost savings across the function through process improvements or otherwise.
The successful Junior Buyer will have the below skills and experience:
  • 3 years of experience working within a manufacturing / engineering company is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc).
  • Proficient people skills
  • Exposure of working in a manufacturing environment desireable.
  • Ability to work to financial and time-sensitive constraints
  • Experienced in working within MRP environments.
  • Studying towards CIPS qualification is desirable
