We are looking for an experienced and innovative journals publisher to drive the ideation of new journal concepts, to lead a team that brings those to market, and to drive the success of key open access brands.

What you’ll be doing
- Working with the STM Journals Publishing Director to drive, facilitate, and enable new product development in response to research community, market, and industry trends and in keeping with the aims and principles of open science.
- Overseeing the reputational and commercial success of key open access brands.
- Ensuring that appropriate editorial processes, approaches, and standards are in place for these key brands and are implemented by external and internal editorial teams.
- Leading, coaching and inspiring the programme development publishing team.
- As a member of the STM journals leadership team, contributing to strategy and business planning, ensuring that we deliver growth, innovation, profitability, and service.
- Maintaining close contact with the scientific and open research communities, building on own expertise as a transformative science publisher and open research thought leader.

- PhD in a life science subject preferred

- Substantial experience in driving journal publishing strategy and innovation
- Familiarity with evolving journal publishing business models
- Well networked in relevant scientific research communities
Desirable
- Leading role in building or driving an open access journals programme
- Major contribution to product innovation
