Job Introduction

At BBC Radio Tees we are proud to serve an incredible area, and reflect that pride through creatively serving our audience and making a difference to where we live

As an Executive Producer, you will work with the Executive Editor to ensure that your station is aligned to the Local Radio strategy (5 pillars) and that your team fully understands what that means for the way they work.

This is a role for someone who loves radio, embraces all things digital and has a real understanding of the audience. You’ll also need to be comfortable driving change.

Role Responsibility

The Executive Producer role is wide-ranging and combines the strategic with the operational.

You’ll work closely with the Executive Editor, providing support in the overall management and development of the station and staff and have a number of day-to-day responsibilities which will include the line-management of some programme teams.

You’ll take a lead role on station campaigns and one-off projects and be comfortable driving forward new ways of working and collaborating with other departments.

Are you the right candidate?

You’ll have a strong track record in production – in linear or digital and will have worked on initiatives to attract new audiences.

You should be able to demonstrate strong leadership and clear direction with experience identifying, mentoring and developing new talent and have the ability to bring the best out in others with a flexible and collaborative approach.

You will harness a culture of fairness, collaboration and inclusivity and have the ability to give constructive feedback to get the most from your teams.

You’ll need strong editorial judgement and an instinct for ways to reach different groups within the local audience.
