We’re looking for an experienced and highly-skilled Events Programme Manager to design, deliver and manage a busy and varied programme of quality events for an organisation which puts its customers and the social housing sector at the heart of everything it does.

Flexibility to work solely from home, office or hybrid with a salary of circa £40,000pa dependent on experience.

About the role

As the Events Programme Manager you will help raise the profile of Housemark through designing and delivering a varied and engaging events programme aimed at both members and non-members, that positions Housemark as a catalyst and change partner, delivers tangible takeaways to attendees, generates opportunities to engage with members and the wider sector, and boosts revenue and reputation.

You will:

  • Manage the content, design, development, communication, and delivery of Housemark’s entire portfolio of events, training courses and presence at exhibitions across the UK.
  • Hold specific responsibility for the development and management of the full events programme, including professional liaison with executive-level customers, high-profile stakeholders, and key strategic sector influencers.
  • Manage the process of individual events from initial planning to onsite or virtual delivery and post-event analysis for a range of different events.
  • Ensure all work, events and communications meets high quality standards.
  • Hold responsibility for the delivery of significant events revenue and sponsorship income – circa £200,000 per year. Professional delivery and management of the events expenditure budget.
  • Boost event engagement by working within the customer and marketing team and with wider internal stakeholders to co-plan and deliver promotional activity, marketing campaigns, event literature and follow up activity that attract the right audience, target senior executives and Board members where applicable, meet attendance targets, attract sponsorship and achieve high overall satisfaction.
  • Working with Housemark colleagues, understand the potential impact and positioning of key messages in events to make the maximise reach and reputational gains for Housemark.
  • Stay updated on all the latest trends and emerging interests in the social housing sector positioning you to make recommendations about event content, speakers and preparing briefings that maximise the impact of events.
  • Inspire and lead a small team of events professionals, sharing your knowledge and experience to develop their potential.

About you – your qualifications and experience

We’re looking for someone who can make connections, inspires confidence in their delivery, with an eye for the smooth and seamless flow of complex logistics, as well as the capability to wow at flagship events. You’ll thrive dealing directly with our customers and internal stakeholders alike, drawing on your excellent people skills to build relationships, trust and respect in a fast paced environment.

Specifically we’re looking for someone who can bring:

  • Proven experience (min 5 years) of designing, managing and delivering complex events programmes, preferably with a blend of experience of in person and virtual event delivery, and ideally with a qualification in event management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with executive-level stakeholders and speakers, work flexibility and build excellent relationships
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills with experience working across all aspect of event logistics, venues, live event production, AV and tech set up, accommodation, etc
  • Commercial insight with experience of sales and marketing as well as budget management
  • Experience of working under pressure, and who is collaborative and solution focussed
  • (Ideally) experience in a social housing environment within the UK, with an understanding of the social housing sector and its key issues and emerging areas of interest
  • Awareness of event industry trends and insights, and constantly looking for new and innovative offerings
