Our client requires someone to support the delivery and promotion of events and activity across various venues and facilities, using knowledge that will be provided through events officers and practical experience.

This role will require an Enhanced DBS - Agency will assist in this

Job Role
  • Assist the events officer and managers in matters relating to the facilitation, processing and advice provided to a variety of events and activity organisers across specific areas within the service
  • Accept and where appropriate process booking and event applications, collect and raise payments and provide advice to event and activity organisers within set council and service procedures.
  • Under direction, support and assist event officers and managers in the processes of managing large event applications in order to ensure public safety, council priorities and legislative requirements.
  • With support, to provide information and advice to members of the public, colleagues, businesses and organisations to enable the delivery of a wide range of events and activity across the service area venues and facilities.
  • To assist in maintaining records of materials and information available to the public and follow processes to ensure it is accessible within a fair and equitable system.
  • To act as the first point of contact for all events and activity enquiries providing first contact information to event organisers, customers and colleagues.
  • Receive and direct complaints appropriately and respond to comments about the service appropriately, referring to more senior colleagues and managers.
  • Provide or monitor a range of planned activities within an agreed programme under the general supervision of more senior staff

Qualifications / Experience
  • NVQ level 2 literacy & numeracy or equivalent
  • NVQ level 3 qualification in customer service or equivalent practical work experience within the subject area to demonstrate technically specific skills relating to the appropriate area of work
  • Practical work experience to give through understanding of the processes and practices required to deliver the service.
  • Awareness and general understanding of the service area technical protocols, regulations and relevant legislation for licensing, health and safety and other processes to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to interact with businesses, colleagues and engage with the general public
  • Ability to present information clearly and confidently
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages efficiently.-
  • Ability to work under supervision and recognise professional boundaries to seek advice when appropriate.
  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure certificate (relevant applications and checks will be carried out before any job offer is confirmed).
