Estimator

I am working closely with a regional award-winning House Builder, to recruit an Estimator to join their Cornwall operations, heading up pre construction costs.

You will join an experienced team to deliver best quality homes, at the best possible cost. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, you will be responsible for effectively managing costs and controlling budgets and valuations, including monthly updating of the estimated final costs and value reconciliations.

Day to day duties will include:

  • Up-dating and maintaining the estimating database / system
  • Prepare estimates of all construction costs, including all site management costs and preliminaries. Input of all development costs into appraisals/viabilities
  • Provide info for land purchase exercise
  • Identify abnormal costs / value engineering – maintain appraisal costs / prestart stage
  • Prepare viability for all acquisitions
  • Understand all prime costs – house price, labour, site operations and remediation work

Please only apply if you possess the following:

  • Good experience in a pre-construction role with good estimating knowledge of house building or construction
  • Must have a full understanding of the current market conditions and rates
  • Strong working knowledge of the local supply chain and land costs
