An excellent opportunity has become available with a leading Civil Engineering and Multi-Utility Contractor in the North East of Scotland. My Client is looking for an estimator to join their innovative and growing team. The role is a full time permanent position based in Westhill, Aberdennshire.
The Requirements
- Ensure all estimates are detailed, accurate and submitted in a professional and timely manner.
- Understanding of Construction industry and standards
- Experienced in Estimating on first principles
- Familiar with estimating software packages
- Computer Literate
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Packages
The Duties
- Prepare and submit tenders
- Identify hazards, asses risks, make allowances and highlight to Senior Estimator/Commercial Director
- Participate in Business Generation reviews of submitted tenders
- Maintain and populate Evaluate estimating software
- Participate in tender review with relevant Contracts/Sites Managers and Quantity Surveyor
- Assist in the training and development of departmental staff as necessary
- Generate business and establish client relationships
- Assist the Quantity Surveyor with the preparation of variations to contract
- Carry out site visits and measures
- Tender reporting and forecasting to Senior Estimator/Commercial Director
- Assist in producing tender statistics for analysis
- Liaise with clients and statutory bodies
- Participate in internal and external audits as required
- Achieve targets set by senior management and reporting on progress
- Responsible for ensuring positive cash flow
- Meeting contractual and tender deadlines and reporting progress
- Assist in the commercial review of assigned projects
- Ensuring integrity of information produced
- Take responsibility for relevant aspects of the OH&S management system
- Assist QHSE Systems Manager improving OH&S performance and promoting compliance throughout the Company

Education:
- Bachelor’s (preferred)
Experience:
- Civil engineering: 3 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
