The main purpose of the role is to support and progress the Trust’s equality diversity and inclusion (EDI) agenda through the design and delivery of training, education and awareness programmes (face-to-face, virtual, and online learning) that build knowledge, skills and confidence of colleagues in EDI matters.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Design, coordinate, deliver and evaluate a range of high quality face-to-face, virtual and online learning opportunities which help to fulfil strategic priorities and are in line with organisational values.
Specific topics/programmes that have already been identified as priority areas for this role include:

o Disability/long-term conditions; LGBTQ+ awareness

o Cultural Competence

o Equality Diversity & Inclusion e-learning

o Allyship

  • Select and use the most appropriate methods and content to deliver learning opportunities which meet a range of learning and practical needs and take into account the needs of the audience
This role would suit someone with the following attributes, skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable commitment and deep understanding of the principles and application of EDI in the workplace
  • Training and facilitation experience on subject matters directly related to EDI
  • Designing online learning programmes, using a variety of media and design approaches to engage the learner
  • Conducting training/ learning needs analysis
  • Demonstrable insight into the lived experiences of those holding minority protected characteristics
  • Strong communication and presentation skills – written and verbal – with the ability to present highly complex information, taking account of the needs and level of the audience
  • Good project and time management skills – able to plan work and drive projects to meet agreed deadlines
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and sensitivity to the needs/experiences of individuals/groups
  • Open-minded and proactive
The Leadership & OD team is part of the People & OD department which includes Resourcing, HR services and Professional Education. In addition to leading the Trust’s Equality Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) activities, our team provides and coordinates a wide range of leadership development programmes, talent development opportunities, coaching and mentoring, OD interventions and team support to over 10,000 colleagues working across both Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS).
