In the UK we are recognised as a key partner to both the NHS and the private hospital sector.

We are now looking to recruit an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to join our dynamic organisation. The role will be based at our Romford site and will have responsibility for our three UK sites.

The Role

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and leading programs to manage hazards and risks, ensuring an effective safety culture and high quality safety management system. You’ll also be keen to lead by example, encouraging compliance by holding colleagues accountable for performing tasks in a safe manner and providing training where required.

What you’ll need to succeed

This is a key role in the site management team by ensuring EHS is considered in all decisions, from creating strategies for environmental performance to playing an active role with the Technical projects team.

As Environmental Health & Safety Manager you’ll be the official spokesperson on EHS matters, assuming responsibility for liaising with external enforcement and other agencies.

You will need to have proven experience of working in a manufacturing environment, experience within the pharmaceutical industry is not essential but would be advantageous.

Essential:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • The job holder must hold a recognised Health & Safety qualification and be capable of assuming the role of “Competent Person” with respect to H&S issues for the UK Ethypharm sites
  • High standard of report writing to meet regulatory expectations
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Able to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • A full driving licence is required for travel between sites
