An amazing opportunity has become available at our JBT site in Livingston for an Engineering Team Leader. Our current Team Leader has taken a scary step to branch into a completely new role, and we couldn’t be prouder of them taking this plunge. Could this role be the plunge you need? As our Engineering Team Leader, the main function of your role will be to implement and execute manufacturing engineering plans as well as drive efficiency and effectiveness by providing guidance and leadership to the engineering team. Responsibilities

A day in the Life of our Engineering Team Leader…

  • Working those strong people skills by collaborating with other functions such as Production, Purchasing and Design Engineering for necessary resources to implement initiatives
  • Once familiar with the role you can perform piece-part or assembly cost estimates as required for evaluation of competitive supplier bids, standard product design changes, ‘special’ order requirements, or changes in manufacturing and installation methods
  • Implement cost and technical evaluations and make recommendations on improvements in manufacturing and field installation methods and/or procedures
  • Create processes, methods, and procedures as required to resolve product issues of poor functionality, quality, or reliability
  • The role will involve you using CAD and systems such as Syteline, Movex, basic Pro-E and AutoCAD)

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience of a manufacturing and fabrication sector is essential
  • Ability to evaluate costs of manufacturing methods and processes both with material and labour
  • Identifying and implementing cost containment or cost improvement initiatives
  • Applied knowledge of stainless-steel material specifications, handling, and fabrication techniques, especially welding, laser cutting, surface finishing, bending, blasting and similar methods and practices would be extremely beneficial
  • Experience with CAD systems such as Auto-Cad, Pro-E, Inventor, Solid Works
  • Familiarity with part nesting on Trumpf Laser equipment
