Location: The Royal Burgh Bakery, Livingston, West Lothian (Paterson Arran Bakery)

Job type: Full Time, Permanent


Hours: Shift pattern, 3 week rotating basis

Week 1 – Nights - 9pm to 6am Sunday, then 10pm to 6am Monday to Thursday.

Week 2 – Backshift/Evenings - 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday

Week 3 – Days - 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday


Also required to help provide occasional weekend cover

Why lead our Engineering Team?


Without the upkeep and availability of our equipment we wouldn’t be able to make our delicious and tasty biscuits, leading a team of multi-skilled engineers you will help ensure the wheels keep turning and downtime is kept to minimum ensuring we can reach our key outputs.


We got some great equipment at our Livingston bakery, which is unique to the group, such as out single biscuit packs and our palm oil free production line. You be keeping essential product orders fulfilled that can only be completed in Livingston.


What does your typical day look like?


Responsibility to provide an effective planned and reactive engineering service though leading the engineering team with solid controls and innovation. Continuously improve plant reliability whilst meeting the requirements of a complex, high volume production site. A key part of this role is keep track of the financial engineering labour budget and ensure it is aligned with the delivery of site KPIs (waste, TOS, efficiency, machine uptime, planned tonnage).


What are the key ingredients needed for the role?


You will need a formal qualification in electrical / mechanical disciplines and have experience in leading a team of engineers previously, maybe as a senior engineer now looking for a formal step up to team leader. Ideally you have previous experience in a fast moving/high volume manufacturing environment i.e. logistics, warehouse, manufacturing.


No experience in food manufacturing is required.


Health & Safety is of the upmost importance to us, and it must be to you as well. As such any IOSH or related qualifications would be bonus.
