Engineering Manager

£45,000 to £50,000 plus vehicle, discretionary bonus, pension and benefits

Our client is a large and very successful company involved in the production and supply of a diverse range of high quality sand and related products for a variety of sectors throughout the UK. The business has a strong brand and due to a mix of forthcoming retirement and continued expansion, the Directors now wish to recruit a capable and experienced Engineering Manager to head up the engineering function.

Some of the technical duties and experiences required for success include:

· Operational management level experience within a mineral extraction / aggregate / processing / quarrying / water management environments

· Engineering Manager/ Operations Manager/ Senior Production Manager experience

· Heavy engineering experience ideally with water transfer experience

· Capital project delivery and management experience

· Technical specification development

· Contractor management experience

· Procurement experience - adept at establishing relationships with service partners

· Preventative maintenance systems experience

· Experienced at maintaining new & old plant/infrastructure within tight budgets

· Electrical & mechanical experience

· Operational experience of cross functional teams covering different sites and business lines

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to possess a qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related discipline and be able to demonstrate proven success to date in leading an engineering team which has overseen the full maintenance and refit/refurbishment and capital expansion programmes, preferably but not exclusively within a quarrying/mining or similar business.

It is likely to suit either an experienced Engineering Manager having operated in a similar environment or alternatively, an up and coming engineering professional looking for the next step up on the career ladder.
