JOB TITLE: ENGINEERING MANAGER

LOCATION: CORNWALL

SALARY: Very competitive basic salary, bonus, relocation package if needed

THE ROLE: Being an Engineering Manager or equivalent already, I will keep this brief as you are busy!

You will have site wide responsibility for all things engineering, Tasks planned and reactive through to facilities and projects. To Identify cost savings and improvement opportunities. To remove the risk of failure, identify obsolescence. Lead Projects from conception through to sign off.

You are responsible for Mechanical, Instrumental and Electrical Planned and reactive maintenance, Site facilities and Site Projects. You have 5 direct reports, 2 direct and 3 indirect and you have budgetary responsibility for Capex Submissions and revenue spend.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and set day-to-day tasks for the Engineering department.
  • Report against agreed dept metrics
  • Identify opportunity for improvement, through efficiency gain or waste out.
  • Identification of new equipment and subsequent purchase
  • CAPEX submissions to the Board of Directors
  • Designing, developing, and enhancing electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices.
  • Project managing installations and upgrades.
  • SAT test and FAT test arranging and testing.
  • Identifying areas of weakness in the production line or finished products and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Selecting the required tools and materials for the manufacturing process.
  • Training junior Engineers or Apprentices

QUALIFICATION / SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Engineering Degree - Ideal
  • ATEX trained and qualified – Ideal
  • NEBOSH Certificate – Desirable
  • Mechatronics engineering or similar (mechanical/electrical/PLC)
  • Contractor management experience – Essential
  • PLC programming / Trained - Essential
