Ventus is working with a developer of bottom-fixed and floating offshore wind projects, on an exclusive and retained basis, to recruit an Engineering Manager.

The Engineering Manager will manage all technical aspects associated with a 300MW floating wind development, which is expected to decarbonise existing Oil & Gas infrastructure, in the North-East of Scotland.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

Lead all engineering activities for the project

Member of the Core Project Team; expected to actively participate in regular dialogue to help steer, drive and deliver to project objectives

Display a visible and active commitment to high standards of health and safety

Develop relevant Engineering policies and procedures and ensure Engineering team’s compliance to Company policies and procedures

Forge strong links between all internal and external technical stakeholders to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach at every stage of each project

Providing technical input to the procurement process for major contracts and agreements required by the Company’s projects

Contribute into and deliver against the Engineering Budget in line with overall project objectives

Recruit, develop and lead the engineering team, in accordance with project demands

Deliver integrated engineering solutions and facilitating the key technical interfaces between project development and external Contractors

Deliver Innovation in line with Company’s strategy

Oversee and/or deliver Engineering Inputs to the Company’s wider portfolio of projects, as required

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Degree educated in Civil, Mechanical, Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering and preferably Chartered Engineer

Significant experience of leading the engineering input on major capital projects in an offshore environment in the energy industry; preferably in offshore wind

Broad understanding of technical and commercial issues and risks related to projects within the energy sector

Strong knowledge of offshore construction and installation. Experience of both concrete and steel construction is preferable.

Experience of leading, managing people and working across functions and disciplines to deliver objectives

Experience of managing and co-ordinating complex and diverse stakeholders

Ability to pro-actively contribute towards project goals, with a willingness to undertake tasks beyond the base remit to support the wider team

Understanding of risk identification and management

Ability to analyse inputs and assess data to assist in the development of strategies and document supporting rationales

Experience ideally within a project developer context (consultancy or EPC Contractor experience also considered)
