ENGINEERING SHIFT LEADER

Key Role Responsibilities

Act as a representative carrying out work at as detailed by the Engineering Manager

Conduct yourself in a professional manner in support of our customer and work colleagues.

Operational responsibility to deliver a first-class service and meeting the required KPI’s/SLAs upon the contracted and reactive works, from the customers.

Act as point of contact for the Engineering team

Supervision of technical M&E shift team and senior technical point of contact out of hours.

Plan and manage workload on shift; scheduling works based on priorities to ensure completion of PPM’s / CM’s and reactive work orders with in idefined SLA’s; highlight any concerns to Engineering Supervisor.

Ensure high degree of communication at shift handover via verbal communication and documentation.

To ensure all works are delivered on time and to the agreed specification.

Training the shift teams as required including delivering Toolbox talks and team briefings.

Management of sub-contractors working on site, including permits, review of RAMs and isolations where required.

Complete reports and paperwork as instructed by the Engineering Manager

Arrange quotes in a timely manner & submit to the client in a professional manner for approval.

Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, specific company requirements approved by the Health & Safety Executive and the latest regulations and codes of good practice.

Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales. Be knowledgeable of contract SLA’s & KPI’s

Ensure the company Health and Safety policy is adhered to.

Assist the Engineering Manager in ensuring that all Statutory and Legislative requirements are achieved/adhered to for the site.

Ensure clients operational procedures are always adhered to.

Other Duties

Take responsibility for your own training needs and bring them to the attention of the Engineering Manager.

Obtain appropriate authorisation for access into restricted areas from the client’s representative as and when required.

Ensure compliance and Client confidentiality policies.

Conduct planned preventative and reactive maintenance on engineering services as required.

Procure materials and equipment to conduct works.

Supervise sub-contractor as and when required.

Ensure worksheets are completed for works undertaken and obtain authorisation from the Clients representative.

Advise Management team of minor additional works or projects to deliver 5-star service and promote growth of the contract.

Compile estimates and submit through Engineering Management team.

Be available to conduct necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration and shift cover.

Conduct any tasks as requested by Management in line with role.

Conduct any works as required to support operational delivery on site. This could include jobs that are not your core trade.

Take ownership of tools and equipment provided and ensure maintained to an appropriate standard, reporting any defects immediately.

What we are looking for

Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in relevant engineering maintenance field

(or equivalent other qualification recognised by CITB/EITB/JIB).

BS7671 Electrical Regulations

Ability to undertake all facets of maintenance and installation requirements as

required within the scope of the contract.

IOSH Managing safely or similar.

Customer care/relationship building skills.

Able to work as a member of a team.

Able to work without direct supervision.

Able to deal directly with customers in a professional manner and represent the company.

Pro-active and positive approach to work.

Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to simplify complex information to a variety of audiences
