An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CIPD qualified Human Resources professional to join a busy team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering a wide range of HR services in a challenging employee relations environment.

Within this role, the successful candidate will provide a comprehensive, efficient, and professional operational employee relations service working across the whole organisation and across all staffing groups, in order to support the Trust in achieving its strategic and operational objectives.

The post holder will undertake project work and other specific work as directed by the Employee Relations Manager.

Experience of working within an NHS environment with all staff groups is highly desirable, although applicants from other employment backgrounds will be considered.

Aligned to a clinical division and/or corporate area the postholder will provide advice, guidance, and support to managers on all areas of employee relations including grievance and discipline, attendance management, performance management, termination of employment on grounds of capability, equality and diversity, organisational change including redundancy and TUPE, employment legislation including maternity rights and terms and conditions of employment.

Within this role, you will:
  • Provide ongoing advice, guidance, and coaching support to line managers and staff in order to enhance the employee relations capability within the organisation.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Trust managers and colleagues within the People and Organisational Development function to ensure synergy of service provision and training delivery.
  • Ensuring managers are aware of their responsibilities in the appropriate application and implementation People Services policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Deliver sessions on the Management Essentials programme, and any other ad hoc training sessions acting as the lead facilitator to underpin the organisational leadership and managerial strategy.
You should have previous experience of providing HR advice in accordance with current UK employment legislation including TUPE, the Equalities Act 2010, Employment Rights Act, and the ACAS code. The successful applicant will have highly developed communication skills and will participate in the delivery of training to support line managers to develop their people management skills and improve their confidence in dealing with employee relations issues.

You should be able to manage a range of competing priorities to meet objectives, while having the ability to influence, and develop strong working relationships across a range of stakeholders internally and externally.

The role will involve working from home as well as attendance in the office or other Trust sites. It is essential that the successful candidate can fulfil the travel requirements of the post.
