Main duties of the job

The role of the practice development nurse within the Emergency Quadrant (EQ) will be to recognise, develop, implement and facilitate diverse training for all levels of staff in line with current best practice guidelines adhering to the NMC Code of professional standards 2018. The post holder will lead in promoting high standards of care having though expert knowledge and skills, empowering and supporting staff in their development, foster a culture of learning across the Emergency department to deliver exceptional care standards.

In addition the post holder will be required to work as part of the nursing team providing direct patient care to continuously develop own clinical skills, coach and mentoring staff, acting as a role model for practice development across the EQ. They will participate in clinical audits and research to identify areas for quality improvement, developing learning packages to facilitate improvements, acting as a change agent to ensure the best care is delivered.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
