As a Call Handler with Cambridgeshire Police, you’ll be the very first person people speak to when calling 999 for immediate and emergency support.
Cambridgeshire Police covers a large area of Eastern England from the Fen towns of Ely, March, Wisbech and Chatteris in the East, to the cosmopolitan cities of Cambridge in the South and Peterborough in the North.
We protect large and diverse communities across the area. Working together with these communities we aim to deliver an inclusive and professional Police service with Fairness, Integrity, Diligence and Impartiality.
Our Call Handlers speak with members of our communities often during times of personal crisis, including life or death situations, or when there is a crime in progress.
We also provide members of the public with advice and guidance through our 101 service, delivering excellent standards of customer service with every call we receive.
In addition to taking calls and identifying and recording vital details quickly and accurately, the role will also involve managing online reporting of crimes and live chat conversations with the public.

Pay and Benefits
Salaries start from £34514 (inclusive of 20% shift allowance and 22.5 hrs weekend working allowance.
We offer a generous pension scheme (career average) with death in service benefit.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary offers 24 days annual leave rising to 29 days after five years continuous service.
