Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain are working in exclusive partnership with a leading manufacturer and distributor of specialist chemical products to leading organisations across a global footprint.

The business continues to succeed and strengthen, delivering innovative, sustainable, and high-performance solutions with their global market presence. We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to lead the European procurement organisation as European Head of Sourcing.

This role will be responsible for the accountability and leadership of procurement across the Europe business units with a $55m spend across 100’s of direct commodities and indirect services.

This individual will also work closely across the global leadership teams to align procurement processes, share best practices, and leverage negotiations with shared suppliers. This position will report directly into the Divisional Operations Director for Europe, with the expectation that the post holder has the aptitude to progress with in the group to senior and executive status.

The Key Responsibilities Of This Role Are To

• Deliver sustainable bottom-line growth and contribution to Group cash targets via risk-managed sourcing of raw materials, packaging and services at lowest acquisition cost
• Be accountable for the documentation and roll-out of Group procurement policies in consultation with other regions
• Develop and implement regional procurement strategy
• Support site purchasing teams in their buying behaviour to add value to the overall service of the function
• Provide strategic direction, objective setting, coaching, motivation and encourage self-development of site-based purchasing managers and central direct reports
• Provide leadership of strongly collaborative and long-term strategic vendor relationships aimed at assurance of supply and delivery of sustainable cost savings
• Provide regular information, data, and expert opinion to direct the European commercial teams in their pricing and contracting decisions
• Anticipate the impact of external factors on supply chains and mitigate risk
• Lead negotiation of high value contracts
  

Your Experience FOR EMEA Procurement Manager (Chemicals)

• Significant experience in procurement working with a matrix structured procurement operation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to influence and effectively work and lead cross-functional, international teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven experience in developing and implementing projects and new processes within a complex organisation
• Strong collaboration and negotiation skills
• Ability to motivate teams to achieve stated targets, even in the absence of a direct reporting line to you
• Have passion, enthusiasm, optimistic working attitude, good team spirit, and be self-motivated
• This role would suit a Procurement Professional who has experience with strategy commodity management with NPD from Automotive, Medical, Petrochemical, FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Chemicals, Scientific and Manufacturing
