Description And Requirements

Lenovo Value Recovery (LVR) is an exciting new business unit dedicated to the circular economy through the reuse, refurbishment and redeployment of hardware solutions. LVR operates as a small start-up company within Lenovo and is given the autonomy to create the operational infrastructure needed to support this new business unit. This newly formed team is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds in product development, customer support, and supply chain.

The ideal candidate for this role will maintain & build key relationships within our Global Product Development centers. The individual must have experience either working as a product development engineer or as a technical project manager and must have a firm understanding of the product development cycle. The individual must also be comfortable with Executive Level discussions and critical decision making abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role, as the candidate will be interfacing with global team members.

Candidates for this role will need to be accustomed to working in a fast paced, “start-up company” environment in which they will need to perform multiple duties beyond the scope of their role as defined. Candidates will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently to define and close workstreams with urgency. You will directly report to LVR Senior Program Manager.

These are your detailed Responsibilities:
  • Develop and cultivate relationships as well as achieving profit and revenue objectives
  • Build and maintain relationships within the product development team, decision makers and decision influencers
  • Understand and effectively communicate the value of LVR’s processes & solutions
  • Define business management system to communicate status and track progress to yearly KPIs
  • Collaborate with product development team to define the strategy to convert preproduction servers to production level
  • Provide technical direction as needed to support new initiatives within the team
  • Conduct regular cadence of business review internally to ensure continuous improvement

Position requirements:
  • Degree in technical field – engineering, computer science
  • 5+ years experience as a product development engineer or technical project manager leading product development projects
  • 7+ years experience in enterprise server or similar industry
  • Understand the product development cycle and requirements
  • Understand the components and options within a server – what they are, how they are used and if they are interchangeable
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic multi-culture environment with global function team across different time zones
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration across diverse stakeholders to ensure responsiveness to deliverables and deadlines, alignment with project goal, and drive action
  • Ability to lead effectively through complexity and ambiguity, with strong critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and perseverance in a deadline-driven environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills – must be highly adept with Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to manage detail-oriented tasks with exceptional levels of quality
  • Ability to successfully balance multiple simultaneous demands & self-adjust to meet quick shifting priorities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment in which infrastructure and processes may not be completely defined
  • Willing to travel occasionally
