The role will provide electronics support for the research and teaching activities in the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology. Located in the heart of the Heslington West Campus, you will facilitate the design, development, construction, modification and repairs to a wide variety of standard and specialised electronic/electrical equipment. Work is diverse and includes: Schematic capture and PCB layout, 3D CAD modelling, 3D printing, repair and maintenance of existing equipment e.g. radio telescopes, electron microscopes etc., providing advice on electronic/electrical issues and PAT testing. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an individual with electronics experience or a research experienced graduate.Skills, Experience & Qualification NeededYou will have:
  • Degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or appropriate experience;
  • In depth knowledge of analogue and digital electronics down to component level;
  • In depth knowledge of electronic test and measurement equipment;
  • Ability to design, construct, repair and maintain complex analogue and digital electronic equipment, including the design of printed circuit boards.
