Job Title: Electronic Engineer (R&D, Design, Development, Prototyping, Programming & Testing) Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire Salary & Benefits : £35,000 to £50,000 depending on experience + Bonus + Private healthcare + Pension + X2 Death in Service & Early finish on a Friday Summary: The current Technical Director is actively seeking a successor as they aspire to assume the position of Managing Director within the next 5 years. The opportunity to step into the role of Technical Director is highly feasible and presents a significant career advancement. This is a diverse position that encompasses all facets of Electronics Design and Development. Responsibilities include PCB Design, Prototyping, and Testing. Additionally, the role involves developing software programs for embedded systems and microcontrollers using C & C++ as well as Python. The incumbent will also be responsible for utilizing in-house PCB milling machines to fabricate prototype PCBs. Providing technical support to both internal teams and external customers is a crucial aspect of the job. Responsibilities: Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for new and existing products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and specifications. Create and optimize printed circuit board (PCB) layouts using CAD software, specifically Eagle PCB. Ensure proper component placement, signal integrity, and manufacturability. Build prototypes of electronic systems and perform thorough testing to validate performance and functionality. software programs using C & C++ and Python for embedded systems and microcontrollers. Utilize PCB milling machines to fabricate prototype PCBs in-house. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to optimize the fabrication process and ensure high-quality PCB production. Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers. Required Skills & Experience: Ideally you will be qualified to degree level in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in electronics engineering, preferably in a research and development / product development environment. Proficiency in C & C++ programming languages for embedded systems. Strong knowledge of Python for software development and scripting. Expertise in PCB design using CAD software, preferably Eagle PCB. Experience with PCB milling machines and prototyping techniques. Familiarity with electronic component selection, circuit analysis, and schematic design. Understanding of analog and digital electronics principles. Ability to analyze complex electronic systems and troubleshoot issues effectively. Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach. Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
