With an international customer base my client has built their reputation by carrying out challenging marine geotechnical surveys, using equipment designed and built by their own team.
This is an exciting time to join as their new purpose-built facility will be one of the most advanced in the UK, providing agile engineering services to a growing range of innovative sectors.
You will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical building and wiring of electrical control panels and plant equipment. Wiring to include cable identification and termination. Installing cable management solutions for electrical panels to equipment to include cable tray, trunking and conduit.
Some initial testing of new equipment to include first power up, fault finding, and functional testing will be required, together with refurbishment of existing customer plant equipment.

You Will Have Responsibility For The Following
  • Mechanically building control panels including switchgear, contactors and control equipment.
  • Electrically wiring up control panels and associated plant equipment.
  • Initial point to point wiring checks and initial testing.
  • Initial fault finding and functional testing of new equipment.
  • Previous electrical experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communicator.
  • The ability to solve problems when they arise.
Requirements
  • BS7671 C&G 17th or 18th edition advantageous but not essential.
  • BS2391-52 Initial testing and periodic inspection or equivalent advantageous but not essential.
  • Time served apprentice in an electrical roll.
  • A working knowledge of industrial communications and PLC’s
