Approved Electrician | Full time, Permanent role | £33,786.40 - We currently have a permanent opportunity for an Approved Electrician to join our clients’ in-house electrical division based in either Shrewsbury or Stafford. You will be joining an experienced team of 40 employees; carrying out varied aspects of electrical works, including domestic, commercial, responsive, planned, EV points and LED lighting. Our client will provide you with all the tools you will need to carry out your work, offer you ongoing support, development opportunities and much more. Responsibilities include but not limited to:-Carry out inspection and testing and completing of the necessary test certification in accordance with IEE wiring regulations.
  • Carry out Electrical work in domestic buildings as well as commercial work. This includes consumer unit changes, electrical rewires, wiring upgrades, minor works repairs and fault finding.
  • To be fully conversant with all aspects of electrical installation works of both 230v and 400v.
  • Always ensure compliance with the IEE Wiring Regulations, and that the appropriate materials used.
  • To undertake testing of all portable and fixed electrical equipment (PAT Testing).
  • To liaise with customers to arrange appointments, access arrangements, discuss works etc.
  • Carry out and complete all works to high quality and in a competent manner and with the property being left in a clean and tidy condition. 8 To work with, and provide information relating to technical matters, to any group as directed by the Supervisor.
  • To liaise with other staff, Surveyors and Sub-contractors as necessary to ensure the timely completion of works within agreed operational targets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all paperwork including job tickets and timesheets and ensure this is passed to your supervisor within agreed timescales.
  • To accept progress and complete accurately all works allocated via the mobile working device (PDA’s).
  • Ensure that any required qualifications for your position remain valid and to ensure that any necessary training is arranged and undertaken within the specified timescales.
  • To participate in the companies out of hour’s emergency service.
  • To always act in accordance with the companies’ rules, policies, procedures, and financial regulations. Ideal Candidate:
  • BS7671 18th edition (Two years minimum qualified)
  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or JIB graded
  • City and Guilds 2391 (essential)
  • Comprehensive Domestic EICR Testing and/or experience of domestic installation (essential)
  • Customer care skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft 365 applications
  • Experience of online certification (EasyCert) or similar (essential)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Travel distance of within 1 Hour of Stafford and Shrewsbury Company Benefits:
