Job Introduction

As an Electrical/Maintenance Technicianat Sodexo at our Sullom Voe Terminal / Sellaness Accommodation facility, in Shetland,you will be joining part of our Maintenance team. You will be the go-to person, the one with the answers to everyone’s questions, and the one who knows how to keep the facilities operating smoothly. You will be the specialist who will provide technical advice and support for the maintenance of equipment, Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. What you’ll do:

  • Be a vital part of the maintenance operations
  • Provide excellent customer service with a dedicated and helpful approach
  • Carry out reactive maintenance to include electrical, plumbing and joinery work
  • Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, and statutory regulations, including health and safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace
  • Actively champion the health and safety of your colleagues, clients and visitors.
  • Carry out Planned Maintenance Routines on electrical distribution systems in accordance with Sodexo UK&I procedures and current IEE regulations.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and repair assets within technical capability.
  • Undertake routine maintenance and ensure that systems are maintained to the appropriate standard as defined by relevant regulation and best practice.
  • Assist with other building services tasks when required: joinery, plumbing, A/C and porterage.
  • Carry out like for like asset replacement and minor new works as directed.
  • Processing of all paperwork – keeping the CMS system up to date

What you bring:

  • Appropriate experience at approved grade approx. 5 years either C&G 2391 or C&G 2394/2395.
  • Completed the 18th Edition BS 7671 training.
  • Capable and willing to fulfil an Authorised Person / Responsible Person role.
  • Systematic approach to problem solving.
  • IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office applications and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • Understand Helpdesk procedures and workflow requirements.
  • Practical experience of working with safe systems of work and following procedures
  • Experience repairing plant and equipment, as well as the ability to fault find, read drawings, diagnose, and repair equipment using your technical knowledge.
  • Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines, along with good organisation skills
  • Great communication skills, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude
  • Capable of working as part of a team or unsupervised, and of remaining calm under pressure
