This growing business is looking for an electrical maintenance engineer to support the on-site team. This is the perfect opportunity for a maintenance engineer to utilise and further develop their skills. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of PLC control systems with the ability to perform minor PLC changes.You will be monitoring and inspecting the condition of production equipment and carrying out necessary repairs to maximise uptime and safety. You’ll be carrying out root cause analysis when a breakdown occurs and implementing solutions to mitigate reoccurrence. A key part of this role will be to monitor line performance for operational efficiency and devising improvements.
  • Strong fault diagnosis skills on industrial electrical and mechanical systems to rectify breakdowns of production machinery and site facilities.
  • Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Record all planned and unplanned work in the CMMS before the end of the shift.
  • Ensure all engineering work carried out on site is completed to the required safety standards.
  • Monitor and record the performance of production equipment.
  • Suggest improvements and if approved, carryout associated modifications as small projects.
  • Become an expert in the operation of all equipment on site.
  • Handover shift meeting at the end of the shift.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have excellent judgement and be able to multitask under pressure. They will have broad knowledge of all aspects of engineering and site facilities with a particular knowledge in mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding and repairs.Essential Skills
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Ability to fault find and modify PLC’s, AC inverters and servo drives
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong verbal and written English skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
About CompanyHours of Work
  • Double days Monday to Friday
  • 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • 2:00pm - 10:pm
  • Every 3rd Saturday with weekday off.
