Your Impact:


Due to our expanding portfolio and long-term local framework expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Building Services Engineer to join our Midlands multi-disciplinary buildings team in Birmingham. We are looking for an individual who is looking to further develop their experience and responsibilities within the Building Services sector within our Birmingham Office with a view of career progression in the future.



As part of our multi-disciplinary design consultancy in Birmingham our Building Services team are involved in a variety of planned and reactive maintenance, refurbishment and new build projects including several multi-million-pound development schemes and framework agreements within the construction industry.



The core projects at present mainly involves working with a long term local framework partner within the west midlands consisting of a variety of projects including multi-residential high, medium and low rise infrastructure replacement projects, district heating upgrades and feasibilities and District heating energy centre replacement designs. Outside of this core requirement we have projects including education based projects including new build schools and student accommodation both design and technical adviser roles, supporting our Aviation, MoD, MoJ, Highways, Water, Gas and Rail teams throughout the UK and abroad on various schemes.



The post involves assisting Senior Design Engineers to undertake designs of Electrical Building Services. The position will include appropriate training and attendance at a further education college / university on a regular basis if required.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • Qualification (HNC) leading to Degree Standard in a relevant discipline, or equivalent
  • Aspirations of achieving professional accredation
  • Knowledge and experience of UK regulations is essential
  • Experience of working within Building Services engineering design consultancy practice
  • Working knowledge of AutoCad
  • Revit MEP awareness and willingness to develop to BIM competency
  • Experience with electrical design software such as Hevacomp, Dialux, Amtek etc
  • An appreciation of quality assurance and business management
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively with colleagues and with a professional approach to external clients
  • An enquiring approach with a desire to explore innovative ideas whilst still understanding the need for a good commercial balance
  • Must be of smart appearance with a professional attitude and enthusiastic
  • Being able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Report writing skills, with MS Office experience
  • Available to travel short term in UK and overseas
