Job Summary
We are looking for an EHS3 Manager for our Lutterworth Distribution centre on a 12 month FTC.

The EHS3 (Environmental Health Safety, Sustainability and Security) Manager (Lutterworth) will directly report to and support EHS3 Manager UK & Ireland and be based at the Lutterworth Distribution Centre. The role will also support the wider EHS network and operations teams. The post holder will manage 1 direct report.

The role will be the subject matter expert for all EHS matters for the operations providing technical guidance and support.
What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • To champion the UK strategy for EHS3 throughout the sites in remit and the wider business.
  • Generation of Safe Systems of Work for onsite operations
  • Maintain current certification for ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001:2018
  • Evaluate and deliver EHS3 training provisions to support operations.
  • Evaluate EHS legal and regulatory guidance compliance
  • Standardisation of working policies and procedures in consultation with the wider UK and European EHS organisation and in alignment to corporate policies
  • Complete an EHS risk profile for the facility and generate a targeted improvement plan
  • Support COMAH development activities.
  • Develop, maintain and complete internal audits to schedule.
  • To provide data and reports to support statutory submissions.
  • Produce reports and data analysis to support EHS3 activities and communicate to the wider business.
  • Assess the environmental management system, developing a sustainable action plan to reduce site impacts
  • Create and maintain a EHS document management system
  • Assess the sites alignment to the UN Sustainability goals and implement Avantor’s vision for sustainability
  • Manage site security provisions assessing procedures for security events
  • Co-ordinate statutory inspections and management of actions arising
What you’ll need to be successful:

  • NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety(preferred) or NEBOSH diploma
  • IOSH Graduate status or higher
  • NEBOSH Process safety qualification or demonstratable experience
  • Fire risk assessment qualification
  • IEMA qualification or similar environmental qualification
  • Sustainability qualification (variable topic)
  • Auditing qualification
  • Management of ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications with a working understanding of 9001
  • 5+ years experience in a similar multi-site safety management role
  • Chemical warehousing (HSG71) and Process safety management
  • AutoCAD knowledge
