General Summary
Are you a market-driven publishing professional with a deep knowledge of author brands? Do you have a keen eye for developing trends and audience development? Are you a self-starter brimming with IP ideas? If so, this could be your chance to join an ambitious, energetic, highly collaborative and creative publishing team with a proven track record of making and backing bestsellers.
As part of the next phase of our growth strategy, Bonnier Books UK – the fastest growing publisher in the UK - is looking to make a senior appointment at Zaffre, the commercial beating heart of our publishing. We want to hire a heavy-hitting commercial fiction publisher who is not afraid to take risks and will build a list of new talent to sit alongside our impressive roster of existing brand authors.
You will take responsibility for 10 – 15 new titles a year across the full gamut of mass market fiction publishing, with a special emphasis on women’s fiction. You will already have excellent contacts across the industry, and a proven track record in publishing successful, bestselling titles. You will be digitally savvy, with high market awareness and a strong sense of initiative. You will not sit back and wait for books to come to you, but actively anticipate trends, and look to commission IP projects from a variety of sources.
This role will suit candidates who want to work in a lively, creative, fast-paced and driven environment, who are excellent communicators and strong team players, who are full of ideas and love bringing them through to fruition. We welcome applicants from across the publishing business and pride ourselves on hiring for attitude not always for experience.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
