As an authority we want to make Hartlepool the best it possibly can be and want dedicated, driven and committed staff to help us achieve that. Hartlepool is enhancing its reputation as a key regional visitor destination and has a wealth of assets from the seaside resort of Seaton Carew to the Historic Headland and Hartlepool Waterfront. The Economic Growth Team is responsible for growing the economy of Hartlepool by assisting businesses to start up and grow and through targeted regeneration projects.

Reporting to the Principal Economic Growth Officer, the successful candidate will be part of the Economic Growth Team that is responsible for supporting local businesses to help them invest and grow in the town.
This is a career grade post that offers the successful candidate excellent opportunities to develop their skills and experience in business support, tourism and marketing.

The post holder will be specifically working with tourism and leisure related businesses with the aim of helping to boost the visitor economy of the town which is worth £182m. The post also offers exciting opportunities to market and promote the town as a key visitor destination.

The post holder will assist the Principal Economic Growth Officer in policy development and initiatives to support business and business growth in Hartlepool. There will also be a requirement to engage and work closely with various business support organisations across the Tees Valley particularly the Tees Valley Combined Authority who are delivering support to businesses and the tourism sector.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work under pressure and within tight timescales. You will also possess good interpersonal and networking skills as well as the ability develop long term relationships with businesses.
