Milestones include the development of our own platform to give us greater control; the creation of an E-Commerce distribution centre; international websites and in-store technologies to improve the customer experience. We’re transforming at M&S and this role is a great opportunity to make a significant contribution to our success!

Our E2E Planning function is responsible for planning the smooth flow of 350m, from Supplier to our selling channels, in the short, medium and long term. They also play a pivotal part in developing forward-thinking end to end planning solutions, preventing problems, taking out costs and making the most of every commercial opportunity.

We now have a opportunity for an E2E Planning Programme Manager to manage, lead and support the implementation of the agreed project portfolio. Within the timescales of our transformation plan to deliver the best for our business supply chain model. This includes new processes, systems and operating models. NB This is a six-month fixed term opportunity.

Your key responsibilities, amongst others, will include:

  • To deliver projects to agreed timescales and to achieve expected outputs within budget
  • To set direction for the project and E2E Planning Team based on a prioritised pipeline of agreed work
  • To own multiple project business cases and gain agreement with business Partners on the best approach to deliver on-time and on-budget and minimise risk to M&S
  • To follow agreed project methodology, including clear definition of RACI and project scope
  • To own the change budget and deliver benefits in line with business case
  • To define and mitigate project risks, with a particular focus on maintaining service to key Partners, Stores, Business Units & Selling Channels
  • To understand programme dependencies and work across teams to ensure change is delivered effectively and in a joined-up way with sympathetic understanding of the E2E Supply Chain network
  • To manage, support and develop a team of project owners, Subject Matter specialists to navigate the sensitive balance between delivering Business as Usual Activities and Ground-breaking Change
  • To manage change effectively to minimise any impact to BAU operations or business critical metrics. Ensuring key Business Partners consensus and understanding of change impact

To succeed in this role, you will be an innovative problem solver with a continuous improvement approach. Ideally, you will have worked in a similar environment and be able to apply your knowledge of retail business data systems and processes to support our strategies. With significant Project/Programme management experience (e.g. Prince 2, Agile).

With experience of working in a constantly evolving environment, comfortable driving and leading teams through change, really bringing your peers and a diverse group of partners on the journey. Gaining agreement across the business in relation to benefits and impacts to the business and customers.

As well as being a tenacious and resilient self-starter, with the ability to balance a diverse and varied workload quite often with demanding timescales and with competing priorities.
