We’re thrilled to offer an opportunity for dynamic, customer-focused individuals to join us as Duty Managers for the 2024 season. As part of our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding customer experiences and ensuring our café operates smoothly and efficiently.

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the café, ensuring seamless service and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, welcoming visitors to Rockley Park and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
  • Supervise café staff, delegating tasks and providing support as needed to maintain high standards.
  • Ensure adherence to café policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Beach Club Team/Rockley Point Sailing Centre to promote weekly activities to café patrons.
  • Delegate daily responsibilities to café staff, fostering a proactive and organised work environment.
  • Engage in general café duties including food and beverage preparation, service, and point-of-sale operations.
  • Assist in managing inventory levels, including stock rotation and ordering, to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Support staff training, ensuring team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Uphold the café’s aesthetic standards, ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Maintain Costa brand standards to meet external audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Professional and approachable personality, with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a café or restaurant setting is essential.
  • While catering/kitchen experience is desirable, it’s not mandatory for this role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • IT skills would be desirable.
  • Candidates should possess or be willing to work towards Food Hygiene Level 2 certification, with our support.
  • All applicants will undergo reference checks to ensure suitability for the role.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: From £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 35 per week
