Rare M&A opportunity now exists within this growing City Insurer.

The primary purpose of this role will be to support the business in the due diligence and on-boarding of new opportunities. Understanding the commercial and operational drivers of the business and utilising this knowledge to help identify opportunities and risks for new and existing programmes. Assisting senior management and other business areas with ad-hoc projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting due diligence reviews of new MGAs, this will include site visits, some of which may be overseas).
  • Co-ordinating with and supporting colleagues in other business areas to complete the due diligence of new opportunities.
  • Gain a strong understanding of the operational model (including but not limited to reporting, underwriting and claims processes).
  • Develop a good working knowledge of multiple classes of insurance (including but not limited to motor, household, surety and professional indemnity).
  • Identifying key risks during the due diligence phase, working with colleagues and counterparties to mitigate these risks where possible and appropriate.
  • Managing and progressing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Preparing reports summarising the opportunities for presentation to Senior Management and the industry regulator.
  • Working with colleagues across multiple business areas (including but not limited to operations, underwriting and claims) to on-board new MGAs or binders in a timely manner.

The successful candidate will have

  • Clear understanding of due diligence processes.
  • Accounting or similar qualification preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar or risk related role.
  • Experience in the insurance industry, preferably with exposure to MGAs.
