We have an exciting opportunity for a HGV Driver Trainer to join our team based at CML in Telford.

Shifts:Sunday - Thursday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £36,825 per annum


Job Description


Deliver driver related training, evaluate and monitor the impact of training on CML Drivers.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver training relating to drivers’ hours / tachographs / WTD rules and regulations to new starters and existing drivers
  • Use Fueltek and Microlise performance statistics and deliver training to proactively manage the driver performance
  • Provide new starter training / Inductions
  • Monitor and evaluate all training provided, assessing CML needs and ensuring all needs are met at all times
  • Report on (both verbal and written) the ability and performance of drivers following all driver training courses undertaken, using counselling and coaching techniques as required
  • Keep and maintain up to date and accurate records of all driver training undertaken
  • Liaise with other personnel such as Transport Manager, Transport Planners and operations desk staff coordinators as necessary in order to maximise benefits for all training provided, ensuring that all training is relevant and in line with best practice
  • Monitor the standard of CML Drivers driving and provide information, advice and guidance to departments such as H&S, Transport and HR
  • Complete risk assessments and safe working practices for CML sites customer sites and delivery points

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
  • Essential skills in LGV C&E Driving Licence
  • Able to work without direct supervision
  • Adaptable approach to work/ training
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information to trainees
  • A good standard of computer literacy, particularly MS Office applications
  • Qualified to Advanced driving level would be desirable
  • Excellent presentation skills
