EV Cargo are looking for an Experienced HGV Driver Trainer to join our Training Team on a full time employed contract working Monday to Friday, 45 hours. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that we have safe and competent drivers, we achieve this by ensuring all of our drivers are assessed, receive a fantastic induction and work in compliance with our standards. In addition to this you will play a key role in driver development particularly in relation to accident prevention and fuel efficiency.

We would like to hear from you if you are an industry experienced trainer / assessor with a good understanding of training needs in the Logistics sector. We are looking for an excellent communicator with an ability to work with a number of departments to achieve the targets of the role.

Key Responsibilities And Duties

Provide driving tuition and assessment prior to and after recruitment targeting safe and fuel-efficient driving, accident preventability and compliance.

To assist in the development and standardisation of all assessment, training, and competence criteria

Ensure all training records are accurate and up to date and information is readily available for both internal and external audits.

Clear communication with the transport training team, ensuring consistency of all driver training across all sites.

Ensure the Agency Driver recruitment and emergency induction policy is followed.

Ensure you are up to date with the relevant Health & Safety legislation to ensure our training practices exceed standards.

Overseeing the induction and training programmes for drivers within their scope.

Raise any noncompliance issues to line manager, providing enough information to make informed decisions.

Produce reports from vehicle telematics to improve driver performance.

Leading a standardisation process and improvement agenda for all drivers.

Essential Criteria

Computer literate, competent user of all Microsoft Office applications

Competent in transport operations legislation and its interpretation

Knowledge of Drivers Hours Legislation

Knowledge of Health and safety legislation

HGV driving licence (C+E) plus current Digi & DQC cards

Able to work without direct supervision.

Effectively prioritise workload to meet set targets.

Desirable Criteria

Qualified in PTLLS Level 3 or Equivalent

National Register for HGV Instructors (NRI)

IOSH

CPC Holder
