Join Our Team as an Drama Teacher in Hexham, Northumberland!

GSL Education Newcastle are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Drama Teacher to join an exceptional school in Hexham, Northumberland. As a Drama Teacher, you will be a key contributor to the school’s Performing Arts department, inspiring students to explore and develop their creative talents.

As an Drama Teacher, you will have the opportunity to foster dramatic expression and inspire the next generation of artists.

Key Responsibilities: As an Drama Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality curriculum lessons to students from Years 7 – 13, including examination classes.
  • The specification we teach at GCSE level is AQA Drama and for A level, OCR Drama and Theatre. OCR A level is being phased out and will be replaced with AQA.
  • Collaborate effectively with the drama department and fellow educators to maintain the highest teaching and learning standards in drama.
  • Actively participate in extracurricular drama productions and theater outings, encouraging students’ enthusiasm for drama beyond the classroom.

Requirements: To excel in this role, you should have:
  • Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with us)
  • A full checkable work history
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Art or a related field.
  • A passion for art and a creative approach to teaching the subject.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students to embrace their artistic talents.
