Domiciliary Care Assistant (Part time & Bank contract available)

We currently have an opportunity for Domiciliary Care Assistants who are compassionate and adaptable to join our Care Team in our extra care housing scheme for the older people in Mirfield, West Yorkshire. See our homehere.

Royd Court is an award-winning housing scheme for older people. The home is set in beautiful grounds with 58 one and two-bedroom flats. It offers a warm and friendly environment where occupants enjoy both the independence of their own homes and the peace of mind of being in a secure scheme, where they can receive excellent personal care and support when needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality, professional service of care to our residents.
  • Treat our residents with dignity and respect.
  • Enable residents to remain in the community, to be supported and maintained safely in their own home and thereby enhance quality of life.
  • Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage them to be part of the community within the home.
  • Help residents to maintain relationships with neighbours, familiar activities and surroundings, providing social contact, especially for residents who live alone.
  • Encourage residents individuality and independence.
  • Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs.
  • Assist with all aspects of care, including personal care, end of life care, and nutritional help.
  • Record care entries on the care plan system.
  • Support residents to eat and drink.
  • Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.
  • Assist other care workers and professionals to provide care for residents.
  • Assist with tidying, cleaning, laundering and other domestic tasks when needed.

About you:

  • You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have empathy with them;
  • You need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our clients;
  • You need to be well-organised, adaptable and practical.

Hours:

Part time: 16 hours (with alternate weekends)

Shifts: 7am to 1:30pm or 4:15pm to 9:30pm

Bank shifts available for weekday & weekend (to ensure cover for absence, sickness, holidays and relief).
