We are now looking for a Sustainability Director to lead the implementation of our ambitions, in collaboration with the Buildings UK leadership team. You should have in depth knowledge of operational and embodied carbon in the built environment and a true interest in built environment solutions to answer current global changes relating to the climate emergency.Inviting bright mindsDo you want to push the boundaries of your profession and develop your excellence in an open, collaborative and empowering culture? Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.You will join our Buildings departmentYou will be leading the implementation of our Sustainability strategy, supporting a population of 600 Building engineers. Ramboll firmly believe that we have a huge role to play in the transition to a net zero future and recognise and celebrate those who help to take us on that journey.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
  • Review and report upon Buildings UK projects using our in-house dashboard
  • Engage with departmental Heads of Department and sector leads to advocate, evaluate and evolve the Buildings department 5 Ambitions across the strategy period
  • Support UK team in relevant/appropriate BD & bidding activities
  • Facilitate project Sustainability kick-off, progress and review gateway meetings, with case study write-ups
  • Influence training content for UK staff around Sustainability
  • Act as ‘Sustainability Champion’ on strategic projects (high-value, strategic, key client)
  • Identify opportunities with (and lead existing deliverables for) WorldGBC, UKGBC & WBCSD activities & forums, as well as playing an active part in the UK Sustainability Board & Global Buildings Steering Group
  • Identify and prepare thought leadership material for internal and external audiences

  • Understanding of whole carbon life cycle and how this applies to the built environment
  • Understanding of energy & carbon trends in the built environment including key legislation such as UK Building Regulations Part L and various planning policies
  • General appreciation and interest in keeping abreast of the application of sustainability to the built environment
  • Experience of facilitating meetings around sustainability keeping the audience engaged
