ABOUT YOU

You are highly motivated, organised, and proactive, with experience in bidding, business development and driving strategy into business. Good understanding of the UKI and Europe Environment market and social, political and economic drivers that influence this. Extensive previous experience in leading diverse teams in a fast-paced environment, including bidding, planning, design or delivery of projects and experience of implementing data-led performance improvement.

ABOUT THE JOB

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the growth of the Environment business line in Europe and India through the coordination of end-market work winning activity and strategic initiative management.

The postholder will have a specific focus on maximising collaboration in order to bring increased success on our highest priority pursuits, and as such will work collaboratively with peers in Sector Work Winning teams, the Europe Strategy & Growth team (including the Major Pursuits Team and SAM’s) Global Business Lines and other end markets in order to drive growth in our core markets. Key to this will be the development and implementation of market leading approaches to a range of enabling factors including (but not limited to) harnessing client intelligence, investment and budget management, pipeline management, performance KPIs and strategic growth investments.
  • Facilitate collaboration across both the European and India region and between global geographies within the Environment Global Business Lines on key pursuits and areas affecting market growth and business margins
  • Support the development of effective relationships with internal stakeholders which promotes a culture of success for the wider AECOM business
  • Take a proactive role in strategic tenders to ensure they are run efficiently and to an acceptable high standard. Challenge where appropriate on both the Go/NoGo decisions and the standard of the submissions
  • Represent the Environment Europe end market where required
  • Work closely with the Business Unit Directors (BUD), Operational, legal and commercial teams to ensure we are focussed on the right opportunities and the capture rate is 60% plus.
  • Work closely with the Sector leads and BD leads to understand the directions of the markets and opportunities in the pipeline. Advise BUDs on directions of markets to ensure Environment are positioned and ahead of those drivers
  • Coordinate engagement and collaboration across the ‘virtual’ AECOM work winning, marketing, and CAM communities
  • Coordinate pipeline analysis to help ensure the end market has an appropriate pipeline of opportunities to deliver its Business Plan targets with respect to Net Service Revenue and Gross Margin
  • Monitor the annual Environment bid budget and draw key trends that help improve Return on Investment
  • Support the adoption of Environment bid governance guidelines and the facilitation of Go / No-Go process

Minimum Requirements
  • Strategic thinker, able to “challenge the norm” and bring holistic thinking to a situation
  • Literate, numerate and articulate
  • Flexible and proactive approach to working
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Understanding of the process and practices involved in the design and delivery of projects
  • Experienced in managing, leading and motivating diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Demonstrable record in the preparation / coordination of successful client engagement or growth initiatives

Preferred Qualifications
  • 15 years relevant experience and understanding of the environmental markets (you don’t need to be a technical expert)
  • Member of recognised professional body relative to Environment core markets or Bidding preferred but not essential
