Director of Capital Works Project Manager located in Barnsley, South Yorkshire Your new company Based in Barnsley this public-sector organisation is currently looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager who has led multiple capital projects to join their team to help the organisation to manage a project from feasibility to completion. Your new role As the successful candidate you will manage a new project for the organisation from start to finish, to time and within budget in line with the best estates practice. This will include the management of all works and services related to capital projects, adhering to all process and governance requirements, including reporting to the relevant stake holders. Knowledge of how to obtain relevant planning consent will be part of your remit, you will also be contributing to applications for funding capital projects. This role requires someone with experience in all fields of project management but particularly a knowledge of public sector contracts. What you’ll need to succeed To be successful it is important that you have a minimum of 4 years capital project management. You must have experience of dealing with public sector properties, with a focus on successful implementation of property strategy to achieve long term goals within the organisation. Contractor procurement and management knowledge is essential. You will have understanding how to liaise with local authorities and planning departments as well as capital funding applications. Educational or charity/not for profit project management experience is heavily favoured. A DBS check will be required. What you’ll get in return Flexible working options available.
