This includes vision, innovation, delivery and operations of key applications supporting Discover’s Digital Payments software solutions. This includes technical leadership over multiple Product Areas as well as collaboration with Product partners.This leader will be responsible for driving overall software development and delivery of Digital Payments Products that support enable Discover to support our B2B partners in the Payments ecosystem. This individual will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement in software delivery including delivery time, quality, and automation. In addition this leader will drive execution of technology modernization in Digital Payments.Key ResponsibilitiesAn Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Strong background and passion for software engineering principles, patterns and practices.
  • Experience leading highly effective teams that design, build, and support of highly available applications.
  • Excellent people leadership with the ability to coach, mentor and develop technology leaders and software engineers.
  • Experience leading in a product-centric software development organization.
  • Relentless focus establishing and evolving engineering practices that embrace automation, quality and reliable software delivery.
  • Outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with Technology and Product partners to define, refine and execute on Digital Payments product and technology vision.
  • Lead multiple Digital Payments Product Areas through delivery of software-driven product capabilities.
  • Instill a product-based mindset that puts our customers and partners first.
  • Drive technology modernization of key Digital Payments products and capabilities to cloud-based solutions.
  • Establish and evolve key metrics to measure and improve software delivery.
  • Meet or exceed all availability targets.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Mentor and coach team members to build both professional and technical capabilities.
  • Inspire a culture of innovation, continuous learning, engineering craftsmanship, and operational excellence.
  • Actively contribute to maturing Company-wide engineering practices.
  • Provide outstanding communication with all business partners and team members.
  • Encourage and foster a culture of DE&I.

Qualifications You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, or science-related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in technology leadership or related experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
