We are always looking for creative, bright, hard-working individuals to join the Potts team We are currently looking for a Direct Mail Data Processor to join our Technical Services Division. Applicants must have outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage and facilitate multiple projects. The role requires previous data processing experience and a strong understanding of current Direct Mail specifications, including industry standard practices for data processing, using sortation software such as Quadiant Bulkmailer, or similar, coupled with an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Prior experience with Adobe Indesign and XMPie is preferential. Daily duties will include:
  • Inspect and troubleshoot client supplied database/data files
  • Analyse client data and prepare data for processing
  • Apply necessary changes/additions to the client data following work instructions, provided in job ticket
  • Liaise and work with other members of the data processing team
  • Communicate any questions with all team members (from sales to production) providing advice and/or solutions where necessary to maintain deadlines.
  • Understand direct mail design and preparation requirements for UK providers, including Royal Mail, Whistl, etc.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Bulkmailer Software as primary database management tools to achieve required output
  • Ensure that data processing jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Complete Quality Control checks on all output, including checking accuracy of Mailsort Reports, data files and PDF proof files for variable data printing and inkjet mailings
  • Able to problem solve when faced with unexpected delays or situations.
  • Must be able to manage multiple jobs and tasks simultaneously and be able to adjust immediately to changing priorities. Requirements
  • Working knowledge of the direct mail/printing industry
  • Previous experience processing data for the specific intent of direct mail
  • IT literate (Windows)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Bulkmailer (or similar sortation software)
  • Experience with Adobe Indesign
  • Awareness of capabilities of direct mail printing and enclosing machines
  • Variable data print knowledge (e.g. XMPie)
  • Willingness to learn will be essential for this role Working hours Mon-Fri - 40 hours Salary Competitive Salary - based upon experience.
