Our eligibility criteria

  • At least a 2:2 undergraduate degree in a STEM based discipline or Higher National Diploma (HND) equivalent qualification, which you’ll need to be able to evidence
  • Flexibility to relocate to any of our UK sites during the programme
  • If you don’t already hold a UK driving licence, you would need to commit to obtaining this in the 1st year of the programme
  • Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll complete a number of different placements within DLG Auto Services sites during the programme.

Your first year will be spent working in one of our Body Shops within the UK where you will learn what it takes to run a successful Auto Services operation, gaining practical experience and an understanding of the various skillsets required to repair a customers’ vehicle. You’ll also achieve a professional vehicle repair qualification that will set you up for success in the rest of the programme.

The world of auto repair is evolving at a rapid pace and our Transformation & Engineering Teams are at the cutting edge. You’ll get to know all about the technology changing the industry and see first-hand how we’re utilising new tech in our repair networks to innovate the way we do business and repair customers vehicles.

You’ll have the opportunity to spend time at our brand-new state of the art Technology Centre in Birmingham where you will work collaboratively on trials and experiments that will directly impact the future of our business.

From day one you’ll be supported, encouraged and listened to. You’ll take ownership of dynamic projects and enjoy on the job training and workshops with leading engineering & automotive organisations. All the while building the skills and knowledge to support you in gaining a permanent role within Direct Line Group Auto Services at the end of the 3 year programme.

Working Hours - You’ll work 40 hours per week with shifts dependent on which placement you are completing.

Location – During your first year you will be based in one our body shops located across the UK, relocation assistance can be provided to successful applicants. Sites that you could be placed at are: Aldershot, Aylesbury, Barnsley, Basildon, Birmingham, Bristol, Crawley, Castle Donington, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heywood, Manchester, Middlewich, Newbury, Orpington, Perth, Peterborough, Teesside, Wakefield, Warwick, Wednesbury, Welwyn Garden City, Weybridge.
