Digital Solutions Exec, Accountancy Practice, min 30 hrs p/week (with flex & part remote) salary dependent on experience, Wilts/Somerset.

Overview

This multi-branch accountancy practice has offices in Wiltshire and Somerset. They are a flexible employer, open to part remote working and part office based (most roles can be worked 40% in office, 60% remote). They appreciate the need for flexibility and are also open to employees flexing the hours, with later or earlier start or finish times.

Role Requirements

The Digital Solutions Exec is responsible for supporting the communication of the digital technology strategy, supporting the Digital Solutions Manager, and to assist with planning and implementation of new policies. Digitilisation has been identified by the practice as an area which needs in-depth consideration and investment. You will need to engage with colleagues and external clients, giving advice, support and leading change within the business towards a new digital way of thinking and working.

  • Working closely with the local teams to communicate and educate, support on the implementation of new technology to provide solutions to client issues. Eg Use of OCR technology to capture client data, use of Cloud based system and apps to provide real time accounting information and use of digital workflow to ensure efficiencies and accuracy.
  • Act as the “go to” expert for advice, guidance and training both internally and to clients
  • Specific responsibility for engaging the local teams and clients, ensuring buy in and understanding
  • Managing project workstream(s) within the larger digital project, ensuring a clear project plan, with timescales and deliverables
  • Continual personal development in the Financial Technology area via training and systems accreditation.
  • The research for and production of articles and newsletters for both internal and external use.
  • Providing Technical support on systems and apps for internal users and external clients
  • Attendance at events run by app providers and follow up reporting.
  • Responsibility for managing client billing and ensuring project cost recovery

The Candidate

  • Ideally you will have experience of working in the Accounting industry, with accounts preparation or bookkeeping experience, in order to have a good understanding of the digital requirements of an accountancy practice.
  • Experience of cloud-based accounting systems and OCR technology would be useful but full training will be given.
  • Experience in a client facing role
  • Excellent working IT knowledge
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal
  • Intellectual curiosity, an ability to communicate technical concepts in a straightforward way
  • Able to work in an organised manner to strict deadlines – planning, diary management, department systems set up and maintenance
  • Excellent influencing skills both on an internal and client-facing basis
  • Confidence to push forward change and ensure that you take those around you on the same journey.

Hours and Location

  • This is a permanent position, min 30 hours per week. Usual office hours are 830am-5pm Monday-Thursday, and 830am-430pm on Friday (37-hour week).However, the company are open to flexing these hours, allowing earlier or later start or finish times.
  • Ideally based in Trowbridge, although the successful candidate may choose from other locations in the Wiltshire and Somerset area.They are also open to part remote working (e.g. 60% of the time). The role will be office based in the first 3 months.
