OVERVIEW
In this role, you will provide editorial support to the team, with a focus on formatting stories for CNBC.com and publishing video clips. This role is ideal for candidates seeking an entry into a career in journalism and online news production, with degrees in journalism, communications, media or business/economics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Working closely with a dynamic team of financial reporters and editors, you should have the ability to juggle multiple tasks, from transcribing interviews to researching stories.
  • Packing story copy including graphics and appropriate links to CNBC.com standards, making it compelling to CNBC.com readers
  • Writing fast and accurate breaking news copy and original stories based on televised interviews
  • The ideal candidate will grow into pitching original news and analysis pieces on markets, investing, wealth and finance

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
  • Keen interest in business news and a passion for print writing. A strong team player, you have excellent communications and organizational skills, with plenty of initiative to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of social media will be a plus, and you should be comfortable with handling various content management systems.
  • Ability to process and draw conclusions from quantitative information such as quarterly earnings, trade data, GDP figures and other numeric-based data
  • Interest in charts, graphics and data visualizations
  • Prior internship experience with an equivalent news organization is preferred, but not essential.
  • University Degree with a keen interest in current affairs.
  • Fast and responsive individual who is willing to learn and work in a fast-paced and demanding live news environment.
  • Good communication and team skills.
  • Capability to handle deadline pressure and work.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite.
