Job Description

The Digital Growth Senior Product Manager will lead the thinking on how content value can best be created and optimised, helping individual brands and teams decide where and how to play with content-based offerings, and how to rapidly experiment and iterate new business models.

  • Grow digital audience with clear acquisition and retention strategies by taking an audience-centric approach, ensuring that optimisations as well as new initiatives meet the needs of that audience while conceiving of products that are valuable to the customer, usable, technically feasible and viable for the business
  • Working in collaboration with the Editorial, Commercial, Tech and Product Directors to ensure that business growth activities are aligned to business objectives, and by developing strategic proposals that will make the company more successful and increase revenue
  • Ensure the right data infrastructure is in place to get the actionable insights that the teams need while being a standard-bearer for data-driven product development, setting clear KPIs and working with the analytics teams to assess progress and iterate product strategy
  • Playing a role in helping drive the content product vision, strategy, roadmap and execution - working with multiple internal/external stakeholders to align priorities, dependencies and roadmap across the digital product portfolio
  • Working with editorial colleagues so that product and editorial strategies are developed and executed hand-in-hand
  • Testing new product ideas, transforming the business to meet or exceed revenue goals and succeed in current and future market conditions
  • Plan to create opportunities based on our content strategy, the wider introduction of a complimentary data-driven content strategy and to deal with risks such as privacy regulation and cookie changes
  • Communicating the vision and delivering regular progress updates to key stakeholders, including the executive team, business unit leadership, and event teams
  • Remain up to date with digital technologies, especially in the areas of ad tech, content management, content analytics and UX expertise including user retention and activity
  • Data driven approach to helping define the Programmatic and Direct Advertising strategy with 1st party data, 3rd party cookies, developing a DMP, monitoring Ad Blocking and implementing the latest data protection advice / legislation.

The Successful Applicant

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Significant digital product management experience in a global environment
  • Experience working in content-driven digital businesses, having achieved challenging growth targets
  • Commercial and strategic acumen: solid commercial experience, backed up by a relevant management degree desirable, or experience in an agency or consulting role
  • Up to date knowledge and good understanding of the digital content landscape, including SEO, UX, user acquisition and retention, ad tech and data
  • Experience in bringing new products or product features to the market, from collaborative conceptualization to execution to post-release management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfort working in complex and ambiguous situations, including demonstrated effectiveness in early stage product discovery and multi-stakeholder environments
  • Proven ability to drive AB testing and a data driven approach to scaling and audience and or increasing revenues
  • Knowledge of the pop culture or video games industry, with a personal interest and passion for the sector is desired but is not essential.
